I had an office mate who was an total adrenaline junkie. Yet, daily she showed up to a desk job, very detail oriented work, if she did not do things accurately, people could be injured. I can’t tell you how many days I saw her just burning to be outside, getting high on a really hard work out on her mountain bike. She had found an outlet that helped her burn off the energy and motivation to get through her days. Her training and teaching on the mountain bike side of her life, often came through as she taught new staff to do some of the detailed work that had to be done in our office. She showed leadership inside the office and out! Her enthusiasm came through daily and she got me out on the trails running and enjoying nature again. This woman’s leadership in her life has changed mine! Do you know someone like this? Do you want to be someone like this?
Until I learned this leadership law, I really didn’t understand why others were passing me by! Seeing others succeed, when I had started on the same path, at the same time, felt like a huge defeat! Now after learning this one thing, I know I will catch up, be successful in anything I want to do.
